There seems to be a suggestion that a Trentbarton bus may have been involved in a road traffic accident at Lower Kilburn. This is seeing diversions on Comet etc. Suspect Sixes Versa 845 might be involved.

Won’t surprise me always crashes with Trent
No real surprise these days....Most often the car drivers fault. Same with trains on level crossings and trams in Nottingham. Amazed some car drivers even passed a driving test, let alone keep their licence.

Maybe don't jump to conclusions, crashes can be surprisingly serious (you've probably never been in one so you wouldn't know), and the absolute first thing to check is if both drivers are OK... 'always crashes with trent', are you assuming it's always the fault of the bus driver, unfortunately these days it seems more common that car drivers are getting worse and worse and think that they own the roads... Bare in mind that crashes are possible at any time while out on the road, it just unfortunately seems to happen with trent's buses a lot that other companies might, which unfortunately damages their vehicles and reputation although it may not even be their fault!

Ok so I and I believe a fair few others here find this thread useful to discuss the goings on at one of our local bus operators - an operator that probably has more going on (or at least more to report/discuss) than other operators.

Personally, I think it is great that people who work for this operator and therefore sometimes have more (or simply different) insights to ‘the rest of us’ not only visit the thread in their spare time, but post in it too and it’d be great if they kept doing so. Posts like this and some of your other comments sadly probably make that less likely, and probably make the thread more likely to be closed.

At the end of the day most of your posts seem to be in this thread so you’d be one of the most worse off if all the drivers stopped posting and the thread started gathering dust, so maybe don’t bite the hand that feeds you?

Thank you, you've really summed this up well.

In other news @Trainman40083 176 found its way on to connect for the day.

Well said.

Apologies if I ever offended anyone with slightly critical comments. They are never intended to offend anyone personally.

Couldn't have put this better myself, being someone who checks in on this thread regularly, it's always annoying to see someone take what they have for granted.

Kinch is helping out as Derby today.
503 is currently on the Mickleover
714 was also at the bus station and is now tracking on the comet

Maybe there is less demand for Uni services in Loughborough. But then , neither of these would be used there

714 looks to have been drafted in for Volvo B8 780 which was tracking on the Comet this morning but stopped mid route.

Two Wellglade Solars have recently received a new MOT which is good to see, 662 at TM Travel this week which could take an already 21 year old Scania through to 2027 which would be quite an achievement! However, I am very much doubtful it will be in use at that point

Trent’s 669 also received a new one after it suffered a failure and was taken out of use, I understand that plans for it were no further service work.

Makes sense, sprint/campus shuttle only requires 3 buses now the Uni is out after all. All of this and Kinch managed to maintain a full service throughout the whole day!

669 appears to have been tested on a class 5 test rather than a class 6 (PCV test) which suggests it will be used for driver training.

This checks out: Sprint only requires 3 buses Monday - Friday now. There's no Campus Shuttle until the new year.

The Holiday timetables now have "Powered by Electric" branding on them as well - I wonder what happened with the delivery of the new buses?

Additionally, it seems that the weekend terminus will be extended to STEMLab, from Mechanical Engineering - seems like somebody was able to speak to the right people at the Uni or Kinch.

Hardly an extension, although at that point you may as well just finish the job and extend it to Holywell Park! You got any links to this, as I am unable to find any data suggesting that it has been extended..

It was stated earlier in this thread that they were expected to arrive in January. I'm sure this is still accurate, someone can correct me if not.

It took a lot of persuasion to get it changed from Mechanical Engineering. There's facilities near the stop that are used frequently over the weekend.

Holywell is more industrial, so it makes a bit more sense that it's not served.

I don't believe the extension is live just yet, and they haven't updated the online timetable (BODS and their website), but I'll get a photo of the physical timetable at holywell later today and post it here.

Allestree Enviro 200MMC 265 is back at Derby, following engine work at Cummins. It was parked next to a Flixbus that seemed to have a fair few people round it. Maybe training was taking place for an expansion in services.

I don't think there will be m(any) disagreeing with you sir.
Fun for the Comet service today. Two out of three services were worked by Solo SRs 500 and 503. A day of extended journey times, as everyone starts their Christmas shopping ️

Think you mean two of four, 4 vehicles have been on it today (500, 503, 714 and 748) due to temporary 4-way lights outside of the Tupton Tap causing delays of upwards of 45 minutes.
