They must do since no more have been ordered in 7 years!
Maybe no other route was suitable for 4 pots.. I wonder what will replace these Enviro 200MMCs, when the time comes to replace them? By then, maybe new diesel buses will be a distant memory.

Look at the likes of Mickleover and Skylink, they're replacing E200MMCs with newer E200MMCs! I think they'll keep ordering them for as long as they're still in production

Not entirely convinced that the indigo was suitable for 4 pots either but I believe they were testing the waters with different configurations at the time

No doubt some of the 6cyls have had to have new engines too

I wonder how many engines the Volvos have had?

Yes, but after 2030, it may not be an option

Wasn’t it implied that the most recent order of E200s could be their last order with ADL? Although it could be hearsay it’d be interesting to see what comes next

I thought they had said that before. I still wonder if "on loan" 277 will be acquired, eventually.

If it were completely up to me (money no object) I'd be putting Volvo B8 Evoras on Sixes and Yutong Electrics on Mickleover and Allestree

I wonder who chose the 4 cylinder E200s and if they now regret their choice!
To be fair - they were an upgrade on the solos used at the time on the nines. Since the fleet change in 2017 customer numbers have gone through the roof, barring lockdowns naturally.

Regarding 258 - 818 has the same gearbox fitted, Allison eco versions (they adapt to the drivers style, and pull off in a different way to the others) the trouble is they only adapt to the drivers style when they are reset (which obviously doesnt happen often when changing over)

258 isn't the worse one though!

Going along with this I'd go for eVoras on the threes, the threes E200s on to the 90 and nines and Yutong 10s on connect.

It seems only the other day there was a plan for hydrogen buses on the Sixes and Skylink... Even further back, electric Enviro 200s on the Mickleover (although the demonstrator was on the H1). I seem to recall they couldn't have cantilever seats on the EvoRa. Great bus though.

It would be nice if Trent got Volvo evoras riddled with air cons and very snazzy interiors in other news what’s happened to tm travel YN56 FDG it has been of road since 30th of october

== Doublepost prevention - post automatically merged: ==

It also looks bad for YN58 NDV at Notts and derby has been off the road since august

Just because a bus is off the road doesn't mean it "looks bad", so please stop asking about every individual vehicle. If somethings withdrawn from service we will know about it

Well I was only concerned it is concerning a bus that works the day has been off the road for over 3 months but it is an optare solo

That's nothing. In 2022-2023 821 spent 439 days VOR and still lives on.
703 & 746 were also long term pit warmers, 746 spent around 2 years sat at the front of B garage at derby i believe.

NDV was withdrawn & scrapped quite a while ago now.. & Likely FDG is also withdrawn due to Euro status.

assume fleet standardisation is one reason they have stuck to e200s,plus perhaps lower running costs compared to Evora's? I haven't looked how they compare.

Were the 4 cylinder examples cheaper than the 6, assume running costs are lower too - maybe not when factoring in new engine repmacements. Always thought they felt quite laboured when they pull off.

Doubt any alternative fuel buses will arrive until they get government funding towards the cost. It has always failed to materialise in the past despite much talk.

You have also got to remember this was the same company that had over 40 wright eclipses and they cost a lot mind you though Trent had more money then or something like that

Again is that fact or your opinion?

I thought that the fuel economy for the Evora wasn’t as good compared to the E200MMC, if so they would have higher running costs having to fill up with fuel more often.

I thought Optare Solos 1193 and 1202 were now with Littles at Ilkeston. 1193 was repainted into fleet livery and re-registered. They won't track as they (if there is still two) are used on schools.

Research from real world usage online suggested that the evora would probably be slightly more efficient depending on use case, it is a heavy duty bus designed for those scenarios. But there is also no doubt that in some cases and routes the E200s are better suited

I asked an Operations Manager about the EvoRa. He said they were fuel efficient. But maybe the question is "do they stay out in service longer?" Like don't break down unexpectedly.

It does depend on what you are doing with it. On urban work the heavier weight and larger engine mean they use more fuel than a lighter weight model like an E200MMC but on a faster more interurban run they are much more competitive as they are working at their more efficient and likewise if the service is busy with heavy loadings then a heavier weight model often copes more efficiently. They are well put together and in the opinion of our engineers seem pretty reliable.

Trent supposedly didn’t go with evoras due to the lack of cantilever seating option

The evora would probably outperform the e200 in certain use cases (ie longer distance routes such as skylinks) but shorter, local routes is where the e200 probably suits

There is a use case and argument for both but a good chunk of trents routes probably suit heavyweights
