Spoke too soon 851 towed back in today

Is that your professional opinion or merely an expert one?
I happen to think the Optare Versa has done a good job. A lightweight bus, that has been worked hard, over long days. At the end of the day, it was only really a long Optare Solo, and they had a design life of 14 years. That all said, there can't be that many operators still running them; certainly not major ones.

And are still pretty reliable whilst working on some fairly demanding routes and cycles though their age is starting to show in rattles and niggles.
I'd still prefer one to an Enviro 200MMC.

I wonder what will happen to almost electric Enviro 400, 1405? Withdrawn from the Notts and Derby fleet in August 2024 and sent to Zeebus for conversion to full electric. Returned to Langley Mill unfinished, following the demise of Zeebus. Hmmmmmmm

Maybe newpower might look into starting other vehicle types, im quite shocked no streetlites have been converted yet.

I'm not sure if you mean across the country, or those in Derby. It was interesting to read the summary of transport related projects, the new East Midlands Combined Authority has. One appears to suggest electric buses for Derby. I guess with Enviro 400 , 1405, it will depend upon how far from completion it is. Shame. It could have been Derby's first electric bus. 8-)

I believe they're currently unable to convert a streetlite owing to the equipment needed being too heavy on the roof.
Ohh fair enough, im unsure how the whole process works in honesty, have newpower ever released any videos explaining how it all works? Wouldn’t mind giving it a watch.

Do Trent even know that this forum exists
I'm almost certain of it, plus the enthusiast groups on social media. Trust me I've seen them get upset over it in the past (rightly so with the way I've seen some people act)

Just be mindful trentbarton in the past have not taken too kindly to information and new brands being spread before they are released by themselves, it has landed employees in trouble before
Excellent points there Liam.

I seem to recall hearing in the rumour mill that the sixes versas may be displacing the centros at Notts Derby? Anyone else heard about that or is it just one of the ideas that gets floated such as them replacing the my15s?

Would Notts and Derby actually want "unreliable" Versas to replace Centros? Personally I'd rather travel on a Centro, especially if I catch the Royal. They feel like they have suspension. Quality bus, but they won't last for ever. Indeed one of the batch has already been scrapped. They must have got some serious hammer when new on the Skylink.
