Oh yeah true, id of thought kinch would of done that stuff (MOT's and MOT prep) before term starts to prevent the sprint branded vehicles being off in term as much as possible

It might depend upon which depots have capacity when needed. . Often seen Kinchbus vehicles at Nottingham depot. There was also a sighting of Allestree Enviro 265 there, the other day. I'm not sure where some of the actual MOTs are done. Often see Langley Mill and Sutton buses at Meadow Road; plus TM Travel , but not from other depots

Yeah i had 498 had to go to manvers depot right before i got it. I know a few nights ago a few of the Volvos went to manvers off the 9.
I know derby is a registered MOT site, just checked a few Nottingham vehicles and they all seem to be MOT'd at "R. H. Commercial Vehicles Limited" which is a Renault truck dealer. Kinch's vehicles seem to be mot'd at Alltruck.

I have been up to Langley Mill today to see if anything interesting was going on in the depot. As it turns out they have a white eVoRa in their depot with no reg plates applied, possibly going to be a demo? Also, what could've been behind it (not 100% sure) is 740, which has just been given a fresh coat of paint into a slightly revised mango livery. And 825 is just sitting there.. waiting..

Yep. Wonder when or where it'll re-enter service. Apparently went to a place in Sutton Bonington for the work. Seem to be outsourcing stuff a lot more these days.. which is nice to see.
Evoras are definitely the preferred choice in the UK bus scene, but the build time wouldn’t suit what trentbarton needs. They might end up getting some for both Nottingham Skylink and Derby Skylink but at the moment that seems very distant. In the next few years, there may even be a new bus that pops up and becomes more preferred. We don’t know.

101-4 are at blackburn currently, I've heard that all 4 will be for the keyworth once back... however I'm not sure how true this is, i personally wouldn't think they'd be suitable for skylink or rainbow one given the poor reliability they provided on the mickelovers.
I do wonder what the plan is for 726/732/33/34/742/745 & once the old ilkeston flyers are ready for X38s, could see 828 heading to kinch, with hopefully some volvos heading to TM.
To save me searching back, can someone tell me why The Mickleover E200s were replaced? Do the new ones differ from the previous batch if they suffered from poor reliability?

I thought buses went to Blackburn rather than "elsewhere for painting" to have such as luggage racks fitted. I could see 101 to 104 doing okay on the Skylink as a good run would do them good . You mention Keyworths , but I thought Volvo 727 was being done to make a 5th bus for the route... So, 101 to 104 would not cover it. At one point there was talk of the Solos getting replaced on the 30 group Ilkeston services. That would release Solo SRs to replace older ones at TM Travel.

I mean, 743/4 went to Blackburn to have luggage racks fitted. If Kinch got a couple of those ex-mickleovers for skylink (however fleet numbers don't line up with 107-109) that could also send back their mango MMCs to trentbarton's depots. As for 727, I have seen it has been slightly sanded down (the only vehicle I've seen in the depot which has), so it probably isn't at the top of their priority list to repaint at the moment. Remember, they still don't have a date for the keyworth timetable changes. They do want 5 vehicles on the keyworth, so sending only 4 to an external source instead of 5 doesn't make complete sense to me.

Not any time soon. They should be for Kinch's 2, 5, 9, 11, 12 & sprint/uni routes. They are probably going to need some new MMCs quite soon at the rate at which they're gaining mileage!

Don't think 828 would go to Kinchbus.. predominantly because if they order electrics, doubt they'd want to spend money refurbishing an old, diesel versa, only for it to need to be refurbished back into trentbarton a few years later. Who knows, 733 was like that.
They could outstation buses at Derby, but in any case, it would be a rather undesirable circumstance, and one that would be exacerbated if the Skylink has its frequency increased again, which is quite possible in the not-too-distant future as the capacity still needs increasing somehow (the alternative being buying double-decker buses, where you encounter Trentbarton's antipathy to 'deckers combined with a need to either rebuild the bus wash in Loughborough or wash buses in Derby - again, not ideal.)

If they were that desparate I guess they could add overhead pantograph charging to the bus stations.. however that would also be a restriction to double deckers etc. Also a requirement with Leicester's green buses scheme, is buses have to be painted green (I think).. hopefully that doesn't damage the skylink's brand..

I can see it being increased to every 10 mins in the next year or two. Maybe if/when they get more ADLs maybe they'll buy enough to cover that frequency increase.. Maybe they will start to want deckers more to increase profits further..

In terms of a greater frequency, I think we need to see what happens post £2 fare . Skylink Derby buses often get a wash at Meadow Road between duties. I seriously doubt you'd get any/many more buses in Meadow Road depot, unless Notts and Derby were to move to Stores Road site (and you'd have to shift a fair few cars or vans there). Derby depot can get a little cosy.
