Why are Wellglades ticketing options so disparate? For example why is there no ticket you can buy that covers all four of their companies?

Because they like to compartmentalise each of the 4 companies. Few of the public know anything about Wellglade itself.

Most TM routes tend not to meet with other Wellglade routes. But a joint ticket with all four of them would be great, or even better a ticket that includes NCT and Arriva etc...

Purely because there is no real need?
TrentBarton operate the majority of their commercial network centred on Nottingham and Derby, TM are more Sheffield & north Derbyshire based while Notts & Derby just operate low cost contracts that don't really interact with the rest.

While not all four, Trent Barton and Kinchbus do do combined network tickets:

zigzag plus - can be used on any trentbarton & Kinchbus journey

Well.... Wellglade group. It will be a contributor to why they have the ticket agreement. I felt it was relevant to the discussion.

Looking at thier website it is only about a pound cheaper than the Derbyshire wayfarer that I think covers all the same buses but also gets you the rest of Derbyshire and train travel as well.
However I am surprised and impressed that it is advertised right next to the peak plus extra on the high peak website.

High Peak is 50% TrentBarton and 50% Centrebus. In turn, of course, TrentBarton is then owned by Wellglade.

High Peak is directly 50% Wellglade Group. TrentBarton don't own 50%. I may be wrong, but it doesn't make sense that Trent Barton would be the owners.

And to further complicate things, Trent Barton is actually still two registered companies (Trent Motor Traction Co Ltd and Barton Buses Ltd, which you still see on the sides of the buses as the registered owners). They are both owned by Wellglade Ltd which is then owned by Wellglade Group.

High Peak appears to be jointly owned by Wellglade Ltd and Centrebus East Ltd

There isn't anything in the Wellglade accounts that I can see about their reported minority stake in First Leicester, so that may be owned by one of their subsidiaries. They also own a cleaning company separately to the bus operations.
