Not ideal, as the West of England line is going to be affected and as Paddington is closed and the date there were probably going to be quite a few using that route.

What's Going On
Due to forecast severe weather between Salisbury and Exeter St Davids train services running through these stations will be cancelled, delayed or revised. Disruption is expected until the end of the day on 27/12/23.

What We're Doing About It

We have been informed of forecasted severe weather between Salisbury and Exeter St Davids. This means that trains running between Salisbury and Exeter St Davids on Wednesday 27th December 2023 will be running to an amended timetable, due to speed restrictions being imposed by Network Rail for safety reasons.

Passengers are advised to only travel if absolutely necessary, and tickets dated Wednesday 27th December will be valid for travel on Thursday 28th and Friday 29th December as well.

Update: overnight, due to a slight improvement in the forecast, its now expected a normal service will operate on the West of England line for SWR. However, due to a track circuit problem at Clapham Junction, at present 1L services are starting/terminating at Basingstoke.
