Quick question-is it possible to see every tram at Wednesbury from the line, or do you have to take a walk around to see the lot?
If you do have to walk, what are the best routes?
You'll not see much from the line. You'll be able to see a lot more - though not everything - by going round the back of the depot. You'll need binoculars for the more distant trams. The route I used was:
Turn left out of the station into Great Western Street;
At the mini roundabout at the end take the footpath that curves left and down to the dual carriageway Black Country New Road;
Keep on the left side of this as you pass under the Metro bridge;
At the roundabout, take the second exit - the continuation of the dual carriageway Black Country New Road;
Take the path at the Sleipnir mound that heads south-east then take the right turn in it;
Keep the mound on your left at all times and you'll end up at the rear of the depot.
It seems to take forever, but you'll get there in the end.
Don't be tempted to take a shortcut down the left hand side of the Sleipnir mound - it's massively overgrown with brambles, etc.
