Afternoon all,

Hope I'm alright to ask this, hoping to sell some of my old (and not so old) model railway, and buy some "new" stuff in place. Anybody know of any good web forums or sites for buying and selling?

Kind of keen to avoid Ebay (don't like the fee's!) and I don't find Gumtree quite gets the traffic.

Any help would be appreciated.

One I know of is modeltrade.net that is run by Hattons of Liverpool, I have the Android app which is quite good. Not sold anything myself so can't comment on how good it is, but it gives you exposure to the market you are after.

I used to use RMWeb, but before they changed to a 'market' which I would almost liken to that well known auction site that you want to avoid, though it has been a while since I visited. newrailwaymodellers might be worth a go, they tend not to like people just registering so they can sell stuff, but the staff might be okay with it if you message them about it first (ofcourse if you stayed with the forum to learn from the pool of knowledge (or share some of yours) there, then they'd be more accommodating anyway).

Good afternoon. May we respectfully ask why you are against eBay's fees.
It is the site's primary source of income which keeps the whole thing going. The alternative would be each and every eBay page plastered with ads.
Aside from that eBay is safer and more secure than many smaller sites.
