Heavy rainfall is expected throughout the day mainly north of Leicester. We start the day with a tree on the line at Wingfield and everything going via the Erewash

Link to EMR update:
#EMRUpdate A tree is blocking the railway at Wingfield, disrupting services on our Sheffield-London St Pancras route.

Delays and diversions up to 40 mins expected, with more details available here: eastmidlandsrailway.co.uk/#Updates

A concerning note to make is the projected river levels on the River Don at Sheffield Lady's Bridge. The first screenshot shows that at 16:45 it is expected to rise to 4.82m, breaking its previous record of 4.47m in 2007, which flooded the city.
The second screenshot shows the projected river levels on the Derwent in Derby City Centre. At 12:45 it may reach 3.32m, just shy of the previous 3.35m record from 2019.

More disruption on the railway should be expected today as rainfall continues

London to Sheffield route and Derby to Crewe route fully suspended due to flooding at Spondon, Uttoxeter and Clay Cross
