I intend to make the return trip on a Sunday in late October. Given that Vermin are often reluctant to offer much in the way of advance tix on a Sunday, an alternative approach may be required.
I am wondering whether the following ticketing is valid and would welcome an expert opinion.
Wealdstone to Milton Keynes - Regular day return using LM
Milton Keynes to Stoke - West Midlands Day Ranger using VT
Stoke to Manchester - Regular day return using VT as above
The only difficulty I can see in the above is the reliance on easement 32 to cover the Northampton to MK "leg" of the journey. That leg is somewhat hypothetical in that I'm not starting at Northampton.
I guess that most Vermin ticket inspectors (guards, train managers, RPI's or whatever they are called this week) will be familiar with the easement but I would like to know whether my ticketing plan is correct.
I am of course aware that raising the issue in this forum is highly likely to cause vast amounts of advance tix to be made available for the journey thus making the entire exercise wholly redundant.
