Currently stuck on a Birmingham VT at Apsley due to a London Midland ahead with brake problems. Almost an hr late. Oh what fun with only two tracks open right now.

Fortunately only about half an hour late, and you're on the move again. Interesting though why 2N11 wasn't capped at Watford.

2N11 is the stopping service, so would be a nightmare to cap. Besides which, it's the slow lines which are out of use and there would be nowhere to turn it round at WFJ.

residual delays expected until about 1430 and there are currently further delays due to "safety checks" between MK and Rugby

I bring joyous news (fortunately not from "on the ground") of signalling problems between Harrow & Wealdstone and the Harlesden area, which are affecting LM & VT + freight.

Also a points problem at Norton Bridge on the up (to london) so all services running slow line Crewe to Stafford to avoid this and points failure at Crewe South Junction on the down (from London) meaning all services Stafford to Crewe are running slow line also.
Not a good day for the WCML.
--- old post above --- --- new post below ---
To add to the list there's now an OLE isolation at Norton Bridge due to a person dangling their legs over a bridge parapet.

Unusual scene around Norton Bridge this afternoon during the problems...one Pendolino inched its way across the junction southbound from Crewe on the Up Slow then stopped in the old station, while a XC Voyager from Stoke on Trent crawled past it...another Pendolino (presumably northbound but it never moved while I was watching it) was sat all this time about half a mile further south on one of the Fasts, and a long freight with something red on the front made its way very slowly southbound along the Down Slow. Apologies if my labelling of the lines is out of date!

Hum, I know there were delays yesterday on the WCML but methinks a friend (female) who I was supposed to meet last night is telling me porkies. She claimed that the 1440 from Glasgow to London was delayed until 1950 (NB departure time not arrival!)... I have doubts (not least as there is at least one train an hour on the route and I doubt they were all that delayed!)!<(
