We've had a decent thread on the planned Avanti recast, but is the LNR timetable being similarly rewritten, and if so what sort of features does/might it bring? Or is only the fast line service being recast?

Slows get tweaked, Tring stoppers extended to MK, semi fasts to Tring only. None of it has ministerial sign off yet anyway AFAIK.

Interesting, that's very bad for Bletchley unless we get stops in the MKC-LBZ-Ledburn-Eus fasts to compensate (we do get 1tph of that off-peak, but nothing in the peak bar the 0700ish). I think I might ensure the local press gets wind of that once it becomes public knowledge.

That said, is the idea to give better connectivity to East West Rail?

I get that all we're talking is added Apsley/Kings Langley/Bushey calls, but that adds 10 minutes on.

I’d describe the whole piece as a recast, taken together.

From memory, NMP, WOL, BLY and LBZ get 2tph fasts to Euston, Slows get switched so that the base 2tph all stops MKC-EUS operates all day, with additional trains layered on top without altering the underlying structure, Watford shuttles get binned in favour of GTR turning there. Performance work so far has been very positive.

As @The Planner said, no idea if it’ll actually get signed off and delivered.

Thanks, with that extra detail (i.e. 2 fasts) that sounds like a considerable improvement for Bletchley. I hope you're right! :)

So the Tring services would be peak only? And EUS-MKC slows are the entirety - plus the fast LBZs and the Northampton/Brums which are semi to HH.

Curious if this means 2tph on the WLL, if nothing else turns at Watford (although weren't those only in peaks?)

It reads to me a bit like the two fasts are Birminghams, so local stations would just get the two slows? This might sort of make sense in terms of capacity when the 730s arrive, as 5.730 will be insufficient for most things, but 10.730 is the same as 12.350, so a bit of a frequency reduction with everything as double sets would provide the same off peak capacity?

So then Hemel and Berkhamsted go to 2tph slow to Euston? I really can't see that happening. They're busier than Leighton Buzzard and Bletchley together.

Tring semi-fasts operate most of the day, so as today Slows has a core 4tph service.

WLL is not 2tph, remains 1tph turning at Watford.

So once again Northampton gets the dregs.

2 (not very) fast to Euston really isn't a very good service and compares poorly with Wellingborough.

Dregs? It is only inserting one more Bletchley stop. Off peak one of the Northamptons already has one.

Have you seen the fares from Wellingborough?

So we are back to the mid 2000s ish situation where essentially the quieter stations had 2tph and the busier ones 4, two fast and two slow, with some off pattern peak extras/extensions chucked on top? This makes sense. Thanks.
