WCML Power Fault Beattock 18/10

Lines are blocked on the WCML between Glasgow and Carlisle.

Anyone know what the exact issue is and what time estimates for line reopening are?
They're being pretty vague about the cause of the incident on twitter. I just want to know whether its a quick fix fault or something more disruptive like overhead line damage so I can rearrange plans.

There’s a complete loss of signalling between Beattock and Beattock Summit. I believe it’s an issue with Network Rail’s infrastructure as opposed to external power supply issues.

Major disruption is expected until at least 12:00 so I’d arrange alternative options if you can. Travelling via the ECML is your safest bet, if travelling from London to Scotland or vice versa. Ticket acceptance is in place with ECML operators.

On a smaller scale, there are now multiple axle counter failures at Tring, causing some congestion on the southern half of the WCML.

I have a seat booked for the 11:56 Glasgow to Euston via Birmingham service. I also decided to reserve a seat on LNER for later today as a backup.

I am wanting to travel down via Birmingham but obviously if the lines are still closed by then, I'll be rerouting.
