At the moment the timetables being ran by operators along the west coast mainline is running significantly reduced from the pe covid 19 timetable. However with the railway heamorging money and the loss of peak traffic would it be viable to see some sort of recast to services such as potentially the loss of a regular north Wales - London or Trent valley services calling at an additional station such as Lichfield TV or Rugby to encourage travel?.
The biggest question would for me be whether long term Avanti intend to run 3tph to Birmingham and Manchester whilst traffic is lower than before and the use of 9/11 car trains. If it is to only return to 2tph then May it be more efficient to use spare 390 stock on routes such as Birmingham - Liverpool through the taking over of 1 of the LNWR services to keep the existing LNWR 8 car?
