Hi all, just warning you of possible disruption between Euston/Watford & Milton Keynes, due to problems on the Fast Line- possible OHLE damage? My 1051 Edb to Eus has 'sailed' past several other Pendos, a couple of 350's & also 221107 was stood at a red in Aspley, prob on the 1610 Eus to Bng.

Electrical supply problems at Berkhamsted, according to NR, with delays of 40 mins. Some arrivals are over an hour late though.

Am on the 16:30 eus-gla , just now at berkhamsted. V little info from train staff who havent got info themselves. bit shambolic but that's bank hols I guess.

You're very welcome Optimo. I had the option of getting the 1710 Eus Ctr, or a trip to Yorkshire along the Ecml. I'm glad i chose the latter, but dont want to pre-empt anything!

Know the East Coast has had a rough ride lately but hadnt heard or witnessed many probs on the West. Only the understandable crewing probs with LM.

I was on the 1657 Euston to Glasgow which left 5 minutes late and arrived at Lichfield TV 35 minutes late. According to the train manager, a Pendolino travelling south had lost is pantograph in the Berkhamsted area, and this was currently blocking two lines (one of each) hence the delays. When we went through about 17:40 there were several NR people standing on the track scratching their heads...

Wow sat at Wolverhampton, all seem ok except Pretendolino. New Street was pretty messy earlier as was Coventry. Though very little information on board and at stations.

On the way back from Northampton, I saw the trains were literally backed from about Wolverton - on the Fast down line, literally (almost) at every signal (390s, 350s and a 377 as well as couple of voyagers) until about watford junction with nothing on the Slow down.

(I probably got the up and down lines confused but just in case I meant the Fast towards Rugby) - Although this was about 4:30 ish though!

I passed the affected train on the 1630 BHM-EUS Pretendolino earlier on. The rear (north end) pan was snapped like a spider's leg, completely wrecked. Overhead lines were still in situ but I expect damage to the line would be particularly acute given the state of the 390's pan....

But isn't this the second day running that a Pendo came to grief? One brings down the power cabes today, one broke down yesterday and had to be rescued by a 57, I'm just waiting for one to be blown up(!)

There was a 57 at Rugby earlier today (2ish) seems it was in the perfect position to stage a rescue. How come it wasn't used? (AFAIK)

Yes, 'Tin Tin' was in the southern bay at RUG. I don't know why it wasn't used, but the state of the pan was such that it was risking being enmeshed with the wires had the train been moved. I suspect something came from Willesden to rescue it eventually.

I know they'd been shifted from the incident site by 1900 or so. When I passed the southern (unaffected) pan had been raised, although I have no idea if there was any juice going through the wires. I don't know which unit was involved, I forgot to look.

I was on the slow train from Stafford via rugby to london todat the 1422 and it was slow fromm northampton to london and no 1 told us anything luckily it was only a few mnutes delayed on arrival but the lack of communications pretty poor if people know hat is going o

My error, thought King was 007 and Lady was 008, get the pair mixed up but at 125mph, that's kinda easy to do

Purely a guess, but imagine that due to the number of trains using the Up Slow there would be problems in trying to get the loco round to the front of the train in order to drag it back to Wembley. Much easier to sent one from the south to attach to the front to do this - though I do believe that there were two "thunderbirds" in attendance eventually.

The bad news is this disruption is going to be continuing today with the Up Fast line closed between Ledburn Junction and Bourne End Junction until the end of service.

All Virgin xx03 Euston to Birmingham, and xx50 Birmingham to Euston services are cancelled with Wolverhampton trains calling additionally at Rugby.

Southern East Croydon to Milton Keynes Central services are not running north of Watford Junction, and all Euston to Tring services are cancelled with xx24 Euston to MKC / xx47 MKC to Euston services calling additionally at Kings Langley and Apsley.
