A new low-cost train service connecting London and Scotland has been suspended just a week after launching.
The west coast route, operated by Lumo, was paused on Monday due to a mechanical fault with
the operator's only train serving the line.
Lumo, owned by FirstGroup, began running trains between London Euston and Stirling on May 25.
Stops on the route include Milton Keynes Central, Crewe, Preston, and
Carlisle.
A spokesperson for Lumo said: "Since launch, the vast majority of our services have operated as planned, however, a few services have been cancelled with alternative travel offered to customers.
"We apologise for the inconvenience and are working closely with Alstom who maintain the trains to ensure minimal disruption to customer journeys."
The suspended train is a refurbished Class 222 Meridian, formerly operated by East Midlands Railway.
