Currently caught up in trouble at Milton Keynes. Failed Pendo on the DF outside. Down Pendies being sent slow line from Ledburn Jct, with some Ups being sent via Northampton. Pendos stacked up on the UF, DF and in MK itself waiting to get through.

Delays currently around 10 mins for LM, more for VT. I think one Man service has already been caped.

Knowing this lot though, going to be farce till tomorrow!

I've said it before and I'll say it again: This wouldn't have happened with an APT! ;)<D
(Even if it had, the other APT's would'nt have been delayed...They'd take the down slow to pass the obstruction as normal, then make up the delay time (And more slack besides) between MK and Rugby! 8))

It would have just used the MML instead to get around the problem, <D

True...Even in this age of privatisation, some progressions in rail technology are still happening! 8)

With specific regard to the - Currently unelectrified - MML, one of these new technologies comes in the form of special long wires...Which will allow electric trains to travel all the way from London to Glasgow without the plug coming out!:razz:

Trouble could not have lasted long as I was on the 11.40 Euston - Man Picc and we had no problems to Crewe.

So what you are saying is that this super APT would have been running around at a lot slower speed than it was built for just so that it could always arrive on time if something went wrong - brilliant, pity the current operators have not thought of this.

Seems strange when one of your previous posts seemed to say that it would be running at over 300mph.

He'll be expecting the Transporter from the Enterprise to be invented soon so that'll decrease travel times a bit. But that wouldn't be logical would it Mr Spock :D

Its actually our Warp drive system that would allow trains to go faster but I did not know that we were fitting it to the APT's.

As for the statements about WCML having problems daily all I can say is that I must be lucky as I frequently use this route and very rarely have problems.

I suppose having said that my trip to London today will be knackered.

I was thinking more about the use of solar power. <D

The 'prime' arrivals where excellent yesterday.

08.58 Manchester arrived 08.54
09.01 Liverpool arrived 08.58
09.04 Glasgow arrived on time

Most of the time the WCML reliability seems pretty good. Unfortunatley it takes the odd signal or TC failure to throw such an intense timetable out of sorts.

Knew I should have kept quiet about reliability as 30 mins late this morning - trouble between Rugby and MK (diverted through Northampton) then slow line from Wembley to Euston because of Willesden problem.

Could have done with the APT with warp drive to make up time, mind you we might have made better time with a proper train (Pendolino) rather than the Pretendolino.
