Does anyone know what happened to the passengers off 9S70 which was cancelled at Warrington some 30 mins late, due to the Emergency Services incident at Wgan as the following train was also cancelled at Wigan? Did they bus them or leave them till the following services ie over 2 hours delay?

I was on the 13:53 from Lancaster to Euston travelling to Wigan. Picked it up at LAN already 85 late, sat there for half an hour, went to Preston and sat there for nearly an hour. No one mentioned buses to me!

I'd have been reluctant anyway to get off as I was sat in coach K on a standard anytime return:D

It did seem an utter mess yesterday on the WCML.

I was on the 0938 Glasgow-Euston. Started badly with a 20 min delay due to overhead wire damage just outside Central. The train had to come in on platform 10. Then there was a 10 min delay close to Motherwell due to points. Add to that, the weather related problems between Lockerbie and Carlisle a crawl outside Carlisle station for signals and and we didn't get in to Euston until 3.32pm just over an hour late.

But judging by what was going on just behind our service I think we got off lightly. One train I noticed pulled into Euston 206 mins late!

Anybody know what the incident was outside Wigan, I'm guessing a suicide?

We cannot be told that in case some of us take offence or get distressed.
I heard announcements on my journey and reports from friends who were also travelling that said a person hit by a train south of Wigan meant no trains could run between Wigan and Preston.

1116 TPE hit someone at Euxton (NORTH of Wigan).
