A huge fire in Tamworth, which created a massive black cloud of smoke above the town, is being brought under control by firefighters.
Fire crews are at the scene and chiefs said the blaze was at the Boomerang plastics factory on the Lichfield Road Industrial estate.
Latest reports suggest the fire, while still burning, has now been brought under control. Some roads have been reopened near the scene and police have been released from the incident.
At one point, the fire spread to the nearby railway line, leading to trains into Tamworth being delayed or cancelled.
Witnesses have reported seeing the plume of smoke from the blaze 10 miles away.
A number of fire engines have attended the fire from Tamworth, Lichfield, Warwickshire, Polesworth, Atherstone and Burton.
The fire was reported to Staffordshire Fire and Rescue at 4.22pm. Around 25 firemen are in attendance.
Local businesses were evacuated after being alerted to the blaze.
Witness John Wade, from Meva Formwork Systems Ltd, said: "This is the biggest fire we've ever seen on the estate. It smells putrid."
Another witness Jason Harvey said: "We've never seen a fire like this around here."
Staff were also outside nearby business CPE Pressure Vessels Ltd and had been evacuated since 4.20pm.
One worker said: "When our boss saw black smoke we were told to go for the day."
No-one is thought to have been injured.
The entrance to Moor Street, from Lichfield Street, was sealed off by police and drivers were diverted.
Police visited homes in the immediate area urging residents to keep window and doors closed until the incident is resolved.
London Midland trains are advising that due to the the fire being line side, services running through Tamworth Railway Station may be cancelled, delayed or revised at short notice
