Watford is an good location for freight, when London Midland did their last Great Escaped, i went down there, perfect day, sunny was to strong, saw an Class 37 with NEXA stock, an couple of Intermodal and an WCRC Class 37 with Mk1 Coaches, the best place is Platform 7 and 8, it's an island Platform, the london side is better, you also get the DC Lines even on that day i went i saw an Class 90 with the Pretendolino stock, doing an test run to Northampton it was June 4th when i went to Watford but it was plenty of freight, you also possibly get the Class 70(001), 86501 and 86's 90's an and the odd 92

Best time for freight at Watford is between about 1200 and 1600, especially 1300 to 1500.

All freight will almost certainly be on the slow lines, that is through platforms 8 and 9.
