Does anyone know why the escalators in the old eurostar section are so regularly out of service?

the lower concourse isn’t open to the public at the moment, only train crew. Even when it is open it’s only during peak

I beg to differ. There are public toilets down there and there is nothing to stop you going there.

The orchestra pit is open all day long allowing access to the toilets, however the corridors/escalators and lifts are blocked off during the off peak periods.
