Three questions in connection with things I've seen on the train to Waterloo each day:

1) I've noticed when passing Wimbledon Train Care Depot that in the sidings at the very far end there is a rake of low loader trucks with a coach attached to them. The coach is painted in the original light blue SWT livery but doesn't look like any kind of rolling stock that they have used as part of the franchise. Does anyone know what the coach is and what it's used for?

2) Looking in the shed at Clapham Junction I'm certain I've seen the front cab of some form of slam-door EMU but as I only get a fleeting glance from a moving train I've got no idea whether I'm right or not. Am I going slightly mad?

3) When arriving at Waterloo I can just about see the familiar wasp patterning of the back of an 08/09 shunter in the former International terminus. I'm guessing it's there in connection with The Railway Children production - is this the case? If so, what type of loco is it?

Any answers are gratefully received - all three of these questions have been bugging me for ages!!

The EMU at Clapham is 4VEP 3417 Gordon Pettit.

The shunter at Waterloo Int is indeed used in the stage production and I believe it's an 08.

Good to know I'm not imagining it!! 3417 seems to be very well travelled. I've often passed it at Tonbridge Yard and marvelled at how such a pristine looking unit consistently avoids the attention of vandals.

SWT have had quite a few liveries (four I can count, all still in use currently) but none of them have ever involved light blue. Can you describe what you mean?

I think he means the NSE liveried CCT at the back of the depot?

Sorry - I was trying to describe the NSE livery (light blue with orange, red and white stripes at the cab ends). Sounds like you may know what I'm talking about, which begs the next question: what's a CCT?

CCT = Covered Carriage Truck
A railway term for a wagon or van which by the use of its end doors & a loading bay can convey motor vehicles. Also used for parcels etc in years gone by.
Other similar terms were GUV = General Utility Van & PMV - Parcels & Micellaneous Van

The one at Wimbledon is a 4 wheel version and will now be in internal use - probaly just for stores. Many depots & yards had vans used for this purpose. This one has been there for years and is probably rusted to the rails! Someone will probaly advise its number soon.
