Interesting! They had been stored in the old steam shed at Bury for several years prior to the sale, so they must have needed a fair bit of dusting and greasing before those exploits.

I can't remember where I read about it now, but apparently the loco concerned performed well, with excellent ride quality, and it sealed the deal. NS committed to buying all of them immediately afterwards.
