I've got some ancestors who are shown on their union cards as working at Warwick TMD (LNWR), would that be the Tilverton depot? Are there any books/websites about the place at all?

While the LNWR (later LMS and BR) did have a locomotive shed at Warwick Milverton, it closed in 1958 - so would it ever have been described as a TMD (which as abbreviation for Traction Maintenance Depot, is relatively modern nomenclature)?

So if OP's ancestors did have 'Warwick TMD' on their union cards (rather than something different which has been translated to TMD), what was meant? Which union? What period are we talking about? Do the cards give grades or trades?

Hello etr221, it was June 1915, NUR, Warwick branch and he was down as a cleaner
