Warship at Old Oak Common?

I noticed a Warship at Old Oak Common earlier this week. It was maroon but I couldn't see the number. I wondered if anyone here knows which one it is and what it's there for?

My guess is that it will be D821 Greyhound which belongs to the Diesel Traction Group, not so sure why it is at OOC though.

D821 has been at OOC since 2014.

Chances of mainline running are slim. Vac brake only so not a big choice of coaches to use and rather difficult to rescue if something goes awry.

Ah yes, I was up there for the diesel gala and took that. I got a nice video of them leaving Watchet from the front coach too.

Great - but training apprentices on what? How to maintain a late-1950s diesel hydraulic?

no - what they will be doing is using apprentice labour to get any work done for a reduced cost and get a double benefit by skilling up the apprentices on proper old school engineering.
