Hot Tip: It's cheaper to buy a peak time ticket from Newton-le-Willows (£8 return) than from Warrington Bank Quay (£8.80) even though Warrington is nearer to Chester. A monthly season ticket is a whole £13 cheaper.
This madness is presumably because Newton-le-Willows is in the Merseytravel subsidised area. Or is it because WBQ is a Virgin operated station that charges Arriva more to stop there??
