Waratah A58 was involved in a strike with a Graffiti vandal at Kingsgrove in Sydney on my other local line at 12:15 this morning the man was pronounced dead at the scene he was found to have been vandalising trains on the other platform before trying to cross the line and being hit by the waratah. trains where busier than usual due to the vivid festival in Sydney's city centre passengers where bustituted to their final destinations

There are several pages of posts on an Australian railfan website about this matter. ALL have sympathy for the train driver and other railway staff as well as for the victims family.

Otherwise, they are pleased that a service has been provided by ridding us of an unwanted vandal from the community.

Over the last 6 months graffiti vandals in Sydney have had a major detrimental effect on the way railfans are viewed and treated.

The Train is back in service today and was noted racing against a K Set through Flying Junctions towards Redfern this evening.
