Does anyone know if there will be any trains at all from Wakefield to Sheffield on Saturday 3rd June? (Ideally we need to be at Sheffield arena by around 11-11:30am!)

Or alternative modes of travel by bus/coach as we need to then return in the evening too

We’ve got tickets to see the brand new series of Gladiators being filmed so a taxi is currently our last resort but doing that both ways I imagine won’t be cheap!

As far as I am aware neither Northern or Cross counrty are running any trains on the 3rd. You will probably have to get a bus from Wakefield to Barnsley then get the Stagecoach X17 from Barnsley to Sheffield which stops near the Arena. Best to look on the Stagecoach website journey planner for times.

Thanks

We’ve come up with a slightly different plan, National Express from Leeds to Meadowhell…err hall

I’m assuming the coach stop is near the tram stop there and that’s on the Arena line?

Yes, it stops in the bus station next to the tram stop/station.

It takes just under 10 minutes to get to Arena from there.
