Wakefield kirkgate bridge work

Just passed through Kirkgate and men in yellow appear to be doing some work on far most bridge from station entrance (across platforms).

I thought that bridge's far track was out of use - is it being brought back into use or am I completely mistaken?

Do you mean the track next to the platform 3 (towards Crofton and Featherstone) track?

Thought that was still open for freight, if not maybe it's being returned to use as the line through P3 is getting a fair bit more use these days.

Yes, that's the track, but I am there again now and I must have been seeing things!

Just been back thru kirkgate and, yes, it's the freight line, but it's just outside the station area towards Huddersfield. Looks like possibly rewaterproofing bridge decking, but I'm not sure and appears to be further over than freight line,it's after the points that enable freight line to continue or join lin to hudds
