Waiting time for update from networkrail

Hi this is my first time posting. Could anyone advise if its normal to wait from october to hear if you have an interview? Application still showing under consideration for assessment 2! Its been like this since 16th october. Everytime I call they say its still on managers desk! Surely cant take this long??

I was wondering the same thing, the application for mine closed on 26th November, finished the online assessment way before this and mines showing under consideration as well!

Its a crazy amount of time to wait. I have also applied for same job but different depot & its fastracked to test complete.

For me its signalling jobs. Two different locations with closing dates 26/11/14 & 31/12/14 but obviously although I've done the assessment for both I'm not expecting a reply from the second application yet

Mines are for track operative. 1st one closing date was sept & 2nd one was only 2nd Jan so will prob still be waiting in april!

I don't know about the p-way job, but on the signalling side the delays seem to be more about waiting for the 'next stage' to be arranged rather than waiting for any manual 'sifting' to take place. Have you done the aptitude assessments yet, or just the situational judgment exercise? The selection after both should be based purely on the scores, nothing else.

I've only done the situational judgment test so far. Will we be notified if we haven't got through this stage?

Yes, you should be! The status on the website should change to 'unsuccessful' at that stage too. Which jobs have you applied for?

I've applied for Rugby and Whissendine boxes, and I've got 'Test Completed' in the statuses of both of them

Ah right, thanks. The delay for the Rugby job could be simply down to availability of folk to carry out the assessments (bearing in mind how many internal applicants are having to go through it too), or it could be that you've not made the top eight - I'd guess that there's quite a few applications for that one! I know that those who have applied for the Whissendine job haven't long since done their SJE, and obviously they can't start arranging assessments until the results are all back (your carried forward, of course). It's a cracking little box though .

Thank you for that information, its made it a little more easier to consider the wait not being a bad thing! And having done a little research on Whissendine it does look delightful!
