Waiting time after an interview

Hi, how long does it take to get a decision after an interview please? I know all the interviews were concluded last Friday? Many thanks

It depends on the role and the company. With some jobs, I've waited for weeks for an outcome. If they have had numerous candidates taking part in an interview they could take quite a while - don't forget HRs will be dealing with all their other day-to-day stuff aswell.

I'd suggest waiting at least a full week, before you try and chase them up. Good luck anyway.

I too am waiting for a response for the interview I had from a nearly two weeks ago. I was told they were interviewing all of last week and will be told early this week. Anyone got any news on their outcome?

I spoke to HR earlier. They said they would email the hiring manager. I know I was the last to be interviewed so I don't know what the hold up is?

It really depends on the role and the organisation. I think that a lot of people assume that once the interviews have finished that HR and the hiring manager pick their favourite candidate(s) and then go ahead and draw up the contracts.

The reality is that HR and the hiring manager may have to go back to doing their day jobs that has been stacking up whilst they’ve been interviewing. They might need to confer with a higher up in their own departments regarding who they recruit. Get finance to assist in compensation reviews. Run things by the union. Or, they might just be undecided. To be uncharitable to the company; they may either be understaffed in the current scenario or may even just be a bit disorganised.

Either way, having been a hiring manager, it’s very rare that you’d be forgotten about, as they want someone in that role. Easier said than done, but it’s best after one reminder to just sit tight. Wishing you the best of luck though, it is so frustrating, I know that we can all empathise.
