The train was delayed due to the 15.55 Cardiff Central- London Paddington being cancelled, and blocking the platform. This wasn't helped by the Cheltenham Spa train also being cancelled so blocking platform 2

Nah he's being facetious. AFAIK there were no catering facilities provided due to not being able to get one of our trollies on the rammed 150 at NWP.

I presume catering would have been put on at Shrewsbury.Prawn sandwich for those with premier class tickets

You may well be right, the whole episode re minds me of the film " The Titfield Thunderbolt," that was a real comedy, this Wednesday version was Produced & directed by ATW Senior Managers.

They certainly did in September 2010. Don't know for certain now but I wouldn't have thought that they would have been refurbished.

ATW sometimes put a 153 on North - South services to move stock around, but the ride quality on a 153 is actually good.

I second that. The ride on a 153 is far better than a 142/143/150 and almost as good as a 158/175. Hell, its better than the 315s/317s/321s that run out of Liverpool Street.
