Very unusual to see electrics on the test trains. I shall have a dig about and see what they're running, and if it seems to be regular.
--- old post above --- --- new post below ---
Radio Survey Coach 3 plus three barriers it seems, top and tailed with the electrics. I think there have been issues with diesels at Stansted Airport, hence the AC's coming in.

Went for a bellow at the Street at lunch time, good to see a proper engine on the blocks of 10 rather than the usual skoda rubbish!

Hoping to catch it at Stratford in the morning on the way in but that involves it running to time, which going by todays form, looks unlikely, running it all as the same train made trust loose the plot fairly quickly although a long list of NXEA services were left delayed in its wake...

Only in the station itself, but this hasn't prevented diesel-hauled test trains visiting in the recent past. Just a month or so back 31465 was there with a short test train plus DBSO.

Still, it'll be nice to see Cans back on the WA.

May signal a semi regular working if all goes well, I'm sure a few more electrified routes with enclosed stations could do without a ropey old 31 choking the place out. Shutting them down always seems to run the risk of the old rust buckets not wanting to start up again, or at least not without enough exhaust gases to suffocate the station.

Diagram a little delayed this morning due to a late fault with 87002 (all fixed) last night and the 87 now being barred from Hertford East for some dubious reason or other. Diagram being picked up from LSt at 11:42.

Edit, now not going to Chingford but will be going to Hertford....

Motive power has been swapped for ETL "Cans" 86701 and 86702. Catch them while you can.

Or not, no need for poxy 86/2s no matter the attempts to make them interesting!!

At least they can go everywhere. The test train couldn't reach Chingford or Hertford with the Cl87 attached because it wasn't cleared for these routes.

Didn't get as far as Ely, stabled in the yard overnight. They were still trundling around the London area at midday yesterday.
