VTWC ECS Tomorrow

Hi all,

Just been looking at RTT for WCML tomorrow and there are a couple of STP services (5Z01 and 5Z02 for example). 5Z01 is working ECS London Euston to Preston and 5Z02 is working back, Preston to London Euston. I assume it will be the same train as they arrive and leave the same platform at Preston in the same hour, but 5Z01 is via Birmingham, whereas 5Z02 is NOT via Birmingham. When it gets back to Euston, it looks like it'll work 1H39 Euston to Manchester Piccadilly. In the morning it looks like it is running on 1R10 Piccadilly to Euston before going ECS.
Any ideas what these will be?

A Pendolino?

Perhaps one has come of maintenance and needs a run out to validate the work done. Perhaps someone needs a refresher training run. I t looks like a test/training run of some kind

Do virgin need to make sure the new paint stays on?

Is that 3900010 before it came out in service with new paint it did a ECS run.

Is there any particular reason why this needs to be done on an ECS train? I thought trainee guards would just work normal trains under the supervision of an instructor.

Correct. There is a possibility of industrial action. It will call at certain stations and carry out the full dispatch procedure. Station staff will ensure that no customers join the train.

Sure i saw in my recent union circular that a ballot is forthcoming at Virgin. Something to do with pay levels.............
