VTEC vs EMT - Train Manager

I have been offered a position as Train Mananger for both VTEC and EMT and I am unsure as to which to take. Does anyone have any experience of working for both and could anyone shed some light on the positives and negatives of either? Thanks!

It's about 10k a year more basic on VTEC isn't it, or am i confusing that with VTWC?

EMT is £32,000 after training and VTEC is £35,640. I believe there are more opportunities for overtime at EMT though and better pay for Sunday’s, although I’m not sure this is true?

Again, someone correct me if i'm wrong, but i'm pretty sure vtec have guarenteed the safety critical status of guards after the 800s come into service next year. This is of huge importance. Not really sure what EMT's status on guards is as it is not a harmonised grade there. No new bi-mode rolling stock predicted for the MML till post 2019 franchise change but you can imagine if the tories are still in power there will be a DCO requirement on the MML.

Both Interciy companies so you have the same pitfalls like football trains big delays and so on. Bigger route card at east coast and more staff on trains, so more variety east coast and a lot more money and I think the guards used to get more commission. You have less passengers on emt which can be a good thing it depends on how close you live to the depot. I would be leaning a bit more towards east coasts as it used to be a hard company to get into, but do try to ask staff from both companys.

I have heard EMT Train Managers do not take any commission on tickets and that they have to take their PNBs on the train instead of off; also they have fairly awful rosters (at least at St Pancras/Derby) and annual leave
I believe that none of these are true of VTEC. I could very well be wrong; but for those reasons I would be inclined towards VTEC
