Vtec group bookings

Looking at booking a trip from darlington 16. 23 to Aberdeen a week today , if I book for 1 adult and 2 children £160 , but on the day my daughter doesn't want to go will the tickets still be valid with only been 2 of us ? As it has the group sign on ? In fact it looks cheaper booking for 3 of us then 2. I have a f and f railcard my daughter does have a disabled railcard if anybody can find it cheaper

No. A minimum of 3 people must travel together to qualify for Virgin East Coast's Small Group Discount. See the terms & conditions.

I'm surprised you're considering Small Group Discount (25%) if you have Railcards. A Family & Friends Railcard gives 34% discount for each adult, and 61% discount from the child fare for each child. The Railcard discount cannot be combined with the Small Group Discount.

Although, as with the small group discount, all 3 must travel.

You are, of course, absolutely correct. However, my comment was made in the context of the OP's daughter possibly not wishing to travel - it would be essential that she did if a Family & Friends Railcard was being used.

I don't agree. In post #1, the OP says that tickets are needed "for 1 adult and 2 children". If the OP's daughter is one of the 2 children, then the other tickets with a F&F Railcard remain valid if she does not travel.

It seems I misread the original post as well! Apologies for confusing the issue.
