Hi all

Looking to book tickets from Chapel en le Frith to Newhaven Town for 22nd March. I want to start 0608 to Stockport, arrive in London Euston at 0905 then LU to London Victoria, 0947 out to Lewes, change there for Newhaven arriving at 1106. Coming back 1732 back to Lewes, then onwards back home. The London Midland website will offer me that itinerary at £27.05 with a 16-25 railcard but the VT site won't, insisting on the 0638 departure from Chapel en le Frith arriving at midday-ish and the 1700ish train out of Newhaven which is too early. Is it just a glitch?

I need the 11:06 arrival and 17:32 out as I'm watching football at Peacehaven at 1245 and at Newhaven at 3.

Will I be able to pick seat preferences on the LM website? I've never booked tickets through them, I just like their journey planner (mixing desk I think its called) I always use VTs website for my advance purchases to the south.

Cheers

Tom

You can specify seat preferences with LM, but not pick your own seat. Then iirc you cannot do that on Virgin's website either. Virgin's seating plan is out there on the internet somewhere so you can check your allocated seat before buying.

Just buy from LM.

Have you booked the ticket yet? The 1732 is now showing as £24.10 for me on Mixing Deck instead of £11.55

Booked through LM, £27.05 which I think is a steal for a journey of this length. No idea why VT wouldn't offer me an itinerary on the 0608. Strange, as I've discussed via PM with another member, its particularly baffling as its straight down the WCML, tube and to the South Coast via Victoria, would think Virgin could find the fastest itinerary for it.
