Yesterday around 10.50am a VT Pendolino arrived on platform 5 at LONDON EUSTON. It was unusual because of a tweak of the livery around the windows. I didn't get the headcode, but it has the inspiration of a London Midland livery tweak.

Does anyone know the headcode, or has seen it before?

Yes, that does look pretty much like it. Will it stay? Or revert to default or be a new livery scheme, eventually?

It has been like that for quite some time now and I don't think there any plans to de-livery back to the usual Pendo livery.

There is a Voyager which is liveried for Bombardier as well (Polimade Depot is the name of the unit)

I noticed a Pendolino arriving at Manchester Piccadilly this evening which had the Alstom logo on the nose under the window and a woman's name (Abigail something?) and "Supporting British Athletes" underneath.

That's one of a few Pendolinos that has been "named" after British Olympic Athletes in the form of a stick-on name under the windscreen; in this case 390007 "Abigail Irozuru". Some of the others are listed near the bottom of this article:

Saw the unit at New Street today and didn't even realise the recent addition; it's not really a naming if it's still carrying it's set of proper nameplates as well IMO.

The front door isn't painted a distinctive colour there... is that allowed any more?

It is a crew door, so I suspect it doesn't matter
(Crew doors on the likes of EMT and GC are a different colour as well)

What are these doors for crew usage about? Where do they lead? Because it's not the usual door to the driver's cab. There are similar doors with a sign "crew access only" on Meridians and also EMT HSTs - the latter is at on one of the carriages on the end.

At number 1 end, it leads to the drivers cab and the kitchen. At number 2 end, leads to the cycle storage area and drivers can. You can walk through from the cycle area into coach A and vice versa.

On the EMT HSTs (and all the other HST operators) that door leads to the guards office which is used mostly for bike and luggage storage (and I suppose somewhere for the guard to read their paper in peace ;)).

Depends which windows you were looking at - the centre ones I don't think have any vinyls round the windows at all, it is only towards the ends of the train where the area surrounding the windows gets blacker

The entire train had vinyls round the windows when the black vinlys were first applied to pendo 004

No - I believe Coach E is in the "normal" livery.

004 has been this way for quite some time.
