Regardless of whether the current planned British Airways cabin crew strikes planned for this Tuesday, 30th and Wednesday, 31st January go ahead, Virgin Trains is offering all airline passengers holding valid tickets for these days free travel in first class accomodation on routes which would correspond to their planned flight.

http://www.virgintrains.co.uk/news/default.aspx#news_126

BA passengers can now fly Virgin (Trains)

Virgin Trains to carry British Airways passengers during strike days.

Virgin Trains will allow British Airways’ (BA) passengers to travel on its services, without additional charge, if the threatened cabin crew strike takes place next Tuesday, 30 January and Wednesday, 31 January.

To claim your free Virgin Train ticket simply turn up with your BA ticket, or, to make an advance free seat reservation, call into any one of our stations*.

Travel will be in First Class accommodation, although it is possible that on certain services we may have to direct passengers to Standard seating.

Passengers must present to Virgin Trains’ staff a valid BA domestic ticket or print-out of e-ticket dated for that actual day. They must travel on a route, or part of a route, that corresponds with the journey that would have been made with BA.

The arrangement includes those passengers who have a domestic leg on their itinerary as part of an international journey.

Virgin West Coast operates regular services between London, Manchester and Glasgow; Virgin CrossCountry runs between Birmingham, Manchester and Edinburgh/Glasgow with some services extended to Dundee with one train a day going through to Aberdeen.

* Virgin Trains Stations: Birmingham International, Birmingham New St, Carlisle, Coventry, Crewe, Lancaster, London Euston, Macclesfield, Manchester Piccadilly, Oxenholme Lake District, Penrith North Lakes, Preston, Rugby, Stafford, Stockport, Stoke-on-Trent, Warrington Bank Quay, Wigan North Western.

Terms & Conditions: Offer applies 30.01.07 and 31.01.07 only and is subject to availability. Offer valid for internal UK journeys only. On certain services passengers may be redirected to Standard class seating. Passengers must present a valid BA ticket or e-ticket dated for the day of travel.

The quote from the VT website seems to think differently. It's "...if the threatened cabin crew strike takes place..."

Still good to see Virgin going after airline passengers.

Contradiction on the website then.
BA passengers can now fly Virgin (Trains)

Further information

Whether the strike takes place or not, BA passengers can travel First Class with us for free. To claim your free Virgin train ticket simply turn up with your BA ticket, or, to make an advance free seat reservation, call into any one of our stations. Click here for more information.
I would have thought they would let them go free even if the strikes were averted.
