VT Euston to Glasgow direct via. Preston

I took a semi direct Virgin trains service at 1630 yesterday. It was a one stop London-Glasgow service that stopped at Preston only.

Looking at the timetable on the website, however, this service doesn't appear to exist. Was it due to maintenance or something? Are there any similar services Glasgow-London?

It took 2hr exactly to Preston (direct). But again searching on National Rail seems to suggest this is a once a day/mistake service.

It runs everyday Monday - Friday so isnt a mistake, its a regular service.

Semi-direct? Can't think of a more direct route.
It's VT's flagship Glasgow service.
It is non-stop to Preston because there is a following 1633 which calls at its usual stations, and others like Rugby and Stafford.

The stated aim is to have more trains like this (at least non-stop to Preston) and have another Preston service picking up the stops.
But they would need more trains to do that.

I would like to catch a 2hr direct service from Preston-London?

What I do know is that it is the only passenger train that does not officially stop at Carlisle, although I understand it often does for a crew change.

The Highland Caley doesn't stop at Carlisle in the passenger timetable. (Although again it often does stop there in the WTT.)

The seasonal 1153 Mondays-Fridays is the only non-stop to London, and there was another until this year, but it takes 2hr 10.
