Voyagers on the Cross City Line

Was working near Lichfield today and albeit I didn't have a great view of the line, I'm sure several Voyagers went past on the Cross City line. If not Voyagers, they were definately diesel rolling stock and sounded just like Voyagers.

Anybody know why this may be? A diversionary route today?

Trains were suspended between the two Lichfield stations earlier, this could have something to do with it.

They were almost certainly Voyagers - a couple pass every day, either empty stock to/from Barton-under-Needwood Depot or in service to keep up route knowledge.

According to 'Timetables 2', all trains from Birmingham towards Derby were due to travel along the Cross City line until 1330 today;

This also affected the 0900 Leeds to Plymouth HST which was delayed at Lichfield City while police were called to an incident on board the train.

It was a booked passenger stop, not sure why. Presumably the first stop after the allegation was reported to the TM.

But, no BTP office there as far as I know, so one would assume the Civils turned out.

But TMs have mobile phones and the BTP have fast cars. I don't know whether it was the Civil Police or the BTP who attended, but we were there for just over 20 minutes. The train doors were locked for most of that time, and the platform was quite busy with people waiting for the previous Cross City train which had been delayed by a signalling problem, and was still in the platform at Lichfield TV when we passed through. All in all an eventful Sunday morning there.
