Voyager vice a Class 170

Looking forward to doing 220005 on the 11:52 New St - Leicester service in a bit.

Should of course be a 170 but the inward service failed at Stansted Airport

Where did they find a spare Voyager I wonder? Turned a SW-NE service from 9 to 5 coaches?

Where have all the 170s gone? Thinking about it I haven’t seen any refurbished 170s at Birmingham for a while, have they stopped working on them or have I just been unlucky

Looks like 220005 was on the Cardiff portion of the Cardiff/Plymouth to Edinburgh.

The train continued to Edinburgh from Birmingham NS as just the 221 that came up from Exeter (vice Plymouth).


220026 seems to have come fresh off depot though.

220026 also had a trip to Nottingham on the 1849 Birmingham New Street to Nottingham and 2041 return.

Good to see some creative thinking. The Leicester - Birmingham section does get very busy even on its 30 minute frequency. A shame some larger units can't be used routinely.

They are being refurbished, so probably a rolling 1 or 2 extra out of use for refurb.
