Visit to The Iron Bridge

I plan to use a Coasts & Peaks 4 in 8 Rover in a couple of weeks. As it includes Telford Central, I'd like to take the oppourtunity to visit The Iron Bridge.

Any suggestions on the best way to get there from Telford Central? Bus? Taxi?

I can't help with Ironbridge it's self, but if you're in the area, I'd recommend getting an Uber/Taxi up to Coalport, it has a very similar bridge and a lovely pub that overlooks it.

Taxi is likely to be the simplest and most frequent option, but also most expensive.
Bus route number 4 runs every 10-15 minutes to Woodside. From there, it's about a 20 minute walk to the bridge.
There's also route 8 and 96 which both run direct to Ironbridge every 2 hours (more often at peak times) combining for a roughly hourly frequency. Route 96 goes to Shrewsbury as well as Telford Central.

The Arriva 8 and 8A combined provide an hourly bus from Telford Bus Station to Ironbridge. it’s ok getting a number 4 to Woodside and walking down but it is quite a climb back up.

Woodside didn't look the best of areas either, when I was there last year.

The select 96 bus from Telford or Shrewsbury to Ironbridge though does not run Sundays. However if you hang on until May Regional transport are running a sightseeing trip using an open top bus during the week and hopefully his Leyland National.

Just a warning, in winter there are no Sunday buses anywhere near it, nearest you can get is the Madeley Centre which is quite a walk (along a disused railway then road) and very uphill on the way back. Weekdays the 8/8a is probably easiest (though it is a bit of a sightseeing tour of suburban Telford) though the walk from the station to the bus station is a fair way.

Ironbridge also has a big group of industry museums in the town which can all be visited with a single £30 ticket currently, although things might change as they transfer to the National Trust.
