I've booked, via the Virgin West Coast website, an off peak return from Euston to Blackpool North and at the time of booking reserved seats for the outward and return legs. I picked up the tickets from the ticket machine at my local (Southeastern) station the other day and when was bemused to see to that the seat coupons quote neither the seat numbers nor the train times. The actual (new style) ticket coupons are fine but they don't have the seat details on either
The seat coupons merely say "SEAT" (twice) as the ticket type, have "SUPPLEMENT" printed in the bottom right hand corner in large letters and have the cryptic message "For use on direction EITHER" printed on them. The date of the journey with its origin and destination stations is shown but no details of the trains or seats. Without the actual seat/train details these coupons don't seem to be much use to anyone.
