Was at Stockport station today, and at around 14:00 two Virgin Voyagers formed of 9 cars (one was 5 car, the other was 4 car) came in and was the 1405 to Euston via Crewe.

Dont Voyagers normally do the Euston-North Wales and New Street-Scotland routes? I've never seen Virgin operate Voyagers to Manchester before or have they changed this?

Not sure, but there is a Voyager diagram to Liverpool each Sunday, more than likely to retain knowledge?

Today was the first Sunday in a long time when I have seen a Pendolino in Lime Street for a long time as it has been Voyager worked on Sundays for a good while due to engineering work.

Probably a Pendolino failure. I have seen a Voyager on the Manchester - Euston once before, and that was due to a Pendolino failure.

Being used for diversion work for the next few weekends to avoid the need to haul 390s with a diesel loco.

Engineering work is being done between Wigan NW & Warrington.

Yeah i guess that makes sence.

This too, but the Voyagers were operating the 13:55 Manchester - Euston. Maybe they've done it for driver training purposes?

I highly doubt it was for driver training purposes i know there is some engineering work going on as explained above so its probably just engineering work.

but manchester - euston goes nowhere near that engineering work....

Warrington - Wigan engineering works, meaning VT diverted via Crewe, Manc, Bolton, Preston. Voyagers forming a service to London from Manchester having come from Glasgow.
