Virgin Traveller Club Availabilty

A collegue of mine travels most Friday afternoon/evenings from Euston to Stoke-on-Trent and then back again on a Monday morning.

We were looking today at the Virgin Traveller club but have been unable to get any idea of what availabilty is like on that run. It would cost her approx £500 to upgrade her normal off-peak returns to first advance singles over the next 12 weeks to gain membership so needs to know that she'll be able to get some free tickets (even if its not every week!)

She can also travel to Stafford or Crewe and could travel earlier/later on Friday afternoon if that helps.

Does anyone have any experience or even a membership they could log in and have a quick look for us?

I've just had a look for the next three weekends and there is still availability for all trains leaving Euston for Stoke-on-Trent between 1600 and 1800 on the Fridays, and from Stoke-on-Trent back to Euston between 0648 (first train)and 0812 on the Mondays.

I'm not sure how typical this is for this route, as I normally travel to/from Preston, but in recent months I've noticed full availability whenever I've been booking even at very short notice.

Beware; the traveller booking site certainly had (and may still have) a bug that made tickets appear available until you actually tried to book them......

I don't suppose they offer anything like this for Standard class, do they?

Most loyalty clubs are worth being on even if ye only add small amounts of points to thy membership over time (I've had an Airmiles card for two years, and I have a whopping four miles on it! ) as sometimes they throw out "comps" to get people travelling more.

If nowt else, some repeated travel discounts and the chance of a reserved seat would be most useful...If the fares are affordable, of course. 8)
