The ad's do seem to be aimed more at WC (and hence Pendolino pax) than XC Voyager pax though.

If one claim their 90 + MK3s emit on average 50% less CO2 than cars, by average loadings, I hardly believe the advert for their trains.

Still it holds that stick 4 or 5 people in a car and you're greener than the train.

That theory is only correct at certain times of the day though. A full Pendo is going to be hugely more environmentally friendly that 200 cars carrying the same number of people.

And of course, at rush hours, the traffic is at a standstill with many car engines running using up fuel, but going nowhere.
