Virgin Trains West Coast 'Advance' fares, 1st Off-Peak fares and 'VTWC Only' tickets are increasing in price from May. Price increases for Advance fares tend to be minor. 1st Off-Peak fares are increasing e.g. from £125 to £135 for Manchester to London. 'VTWC Only' season tickets are seeing some of the biggest increases - e.g. Macclesfield to Manchester 1st class increasing from £3036 to £3728, because both 1st and Std 'VTWC Only' season tickets have been withdrawn (but not for Macclesfield to Stockport, with the 1st class season ticket prices changing from £2388 'VT Only' and £2604 'Any Permitted' to £2604 'Any Permitted' and £2628 'VT Only' - bizarre).

Well the bearded one has to pay for his new toys somehow.
Even if us on the WCML won't get to use them.
This is exactly why I drive to most places now.

VTWC are quickly becoming unaffordable.

The lowest tiers of advance (£16.50 and £22.00) for Liverpool <> Euston are now absent from most departures on most days, especially so if the intended journey is within two months or so.

London Midland all the way <D

Fingers crossed that London Midland don't increase their fares by more than average when the Trent Valley services are sped up even further in December 2018.

Are any of these increases in regulated fares? Or are any of the seasons being dropped regulated? If not, I suppose we are stuck with it!:(
