I have just noticed that the Virgin Trains website says that the 10:52 Edinburgh to Euston service will be in reverse formation with first class at the north end between Carlisle and Euston.

How can it only be in reverse formation from Carlisle to Euston and not on the Edinburgh to Carlisle section or is this a mistake and is this service a Voyager or Pendolino?
Also any ideas as to why this is the case and if any other services within the next few days will be in reverse formation?

Not sure on the train type but I could be because of a defect in the leading cab from Edinburgh which has caused the reversal. The most likely location I would think of to reverse is Carstairs which is where the Edinburgh and Glasgow lines join and this service lost 11 minutes according to RTT between the timeing points at Carstairs.

Is the 16:43 from Euston to Edinburgh formed of the same set which I mentioned above as this is also in reverse formation.
If so does anyone know when it is likely it will be turned around?

Location
Beds, Bucks, or somewhere else
To add to my previous comment, the Virgin Trains website says that the 16:43 London to Edinburgh service will run in reverse formation throughout the journey. Therefore, it is unlikely it will be turned around.

10:52 also ran via Trent Valley rather than Birmingham to make up time.

It may well be because of a few extra Liverpool-Glasgow services that ran over Easter. (Due to Crewe being shut for a bit) That would have ended up with a few sets in reverse.
