I have been to the assessment centre in Crewe for assessments for the role of a trainee driver. The day was run by the OPC and we sat the different tests for the majority of the day. However as this is a customer service role it may be different so Im not too sure what you may be doing. Perhaps some assessments and maybe an interview if you make it through most of the day. If you have been invited to the assessment centre count yourself very lucky as you have probably been shortlisted from thousands of applicants.

I went today and it was more a meet and greet with 35 other people to see how you all interact with each other. You then got to ask questions for existing staff about the jobs they do. Then we did a group excercise promoting the on board shop.

I got through to the next stage.

I was abit unsure of the process as the people assessing us was just normal members of staff. There was only one person there that was actually from HR.

I find that's better - to be assessed by the peer-trainers or instructors/managers than by HR staff who only have a generic knowledge of a very broad spectrum of roles
